An MLM business that is starved for leads will fail. There is no doubt about it. Unfortunately instead of taking a good MLM Training course and learning how to generate their own, many people will fall prey to the lead peddlers online who are usually selling useless lists. This is not to say that there aren’t good lead providers out there. You just need to understand the economics involved and make sure that you know what you are buying and who you are buying them from.

I have purchased leads over the years from a number of companies. A few that I can recommend are Cutting Edge Media, Responsive Data and Peak Impact. Even though I have had very few issues with leads I have received from these companies, you should still get to know your sales rep or accounts manager and make sure they understand your needs. There are a number of other good quality lead companies out there but you should make sure you talk to your peers or your mentor to ensure that you don’t get burned. There are literally hundreds if not thousands of lead sellers online. Most of them promise high-quality fresh leads that practically convert themselves. In most cases what you receive isn’t much better than if you had just ripped a page out of the phone book.

Not all of these lead sellers are purposely selling bad leads. The issue in many cases is that the leads they are selling are either not appropriate for your business or do not lend themselves to cold calling or e-mailing blasting. If you can find a lead seller whose lead profile matches your requirements then by all means you should consider trying some to see if they are suitable for you. To me though, this is kind of a lazy way to go about growing your business. There are many good MLM Training courses available that cover effective lead generation as one of their main topics. In many cases they will even have MLM Training Videos that will show you step-by-step how to generate your own leads online.

There are several reasons why I prefer to generate my own leads for my MLM business. The primary reason is that I know that when I generate my own leads I will get qualified leads that are good prospects for my business. I also usually offer MLM Training and mentorship as part of my lead capture process. This ensures that my list is full of people who are really interested in learning how to succeed with their MLM business as opposed to just trying to find a get rich quick scheme. The second reason I like to generate my own leads is they will always be fresh leads. If you purchase leads, you always have to consider that most lead sellers charge more for fresh leads which can affect your breakeven point. The last reason I like to generate my own leads is that because these prospects have responded to my offer or sales message, they are already at least somewhat familiar with who I am. This makes it much easier to gain some traction when you are trying to encourage them to join you.

There really isn’t any good excuse for not having enough leads for your business. By taking a good MLM Training course and learning how to generate your own leads, you can ensure that you have control of your own business.

Let’s start by covering the basic problems that most MLM distributors have when marketing on the internet. These are the two biggest mistakes I see people doing when they try and market their business online:

1. Most lead capture pages that distributors have aren’t very effective, and haven’t been tested properly. So the traffic that they do get is wasted. Before you learn article, marketing, you need to have an effective marketing system in place if you don’t have one already. However, this article is making the assumption that you already have this set up, and we are going to move on to the second problem.

2. Most people who use effective lead systems don’t get enough traffic to their site for the systems to work (which basically means their wasting their money on the site – you need traffic to get leads). Quite frankly, you need A LOT of traffic, and traffic can be expensive, especially if you don’t know how to use simple, free strategies.

This is where article marketing comes in. For example, article marketing brought more than seven thousand unique visitors to the last website I started in the first six weeks. Now granted, I know what I’m doing so I get higher, faster results than are typical for a beginner, but most of that success can be chalked up to one simple daily habit:

Each day I make sure to write one article and submit it using a specific system, even when I don’t feel like doing it. That’s all.

You see, I don’t let the fact that I haven’t been doing article marketing for years stop me from getting tons of traffic. This article you’re reading right now was my effort for the day. Yesterday, I wrote an article about a well known pre-launch MLM company called The Trump Network. Two days ago, I did a report on a well known MLM trainer which has already received more than three hundred views.

I write ONE article per day.

One of my favorite quotes is from a MLM guru I met named Brad Duncan. Brad told me “I make the money I do because I do the simple, daily, consistent things that everyone knows that they should do, but nobody does, and I’ve been doing them daily for 20 years.”

It doesn’t take too much time research some quick keywords and write an article – in fact, half the time I don’t even do any research at all, I just do some quick brainstorming and write an article from my imagination. (Like this one – no keyword research was involved.)

The funny thing is, while all my competitors are looking for ‘the perfect keyword’, I’ve gotten more than 2,000 views on my main website in the last 30 days from articles that didn’t contain one smidgeon of research whatsoever to complete. I just started writing a short article about a subject I had some basic knowledge in and whamo! I just took 20 minutes and wrote them up. I’ve gotten more than 50 leads from those articles alone.

So here’s my challenge:
